I love referrals!  87% of my business is from referrals.

I love designations too!  I say “more letters equals more numbers”.  Designations mean more education which is a big part of the culture of Women’s Council of Realtors.  And let’s face it, whether you are meeting with sellers or buyers YOU should always be the smartest person in the room.

The Women’s Council of Realtors has a designation recognized by the NAR.  It is the PMN and our local chapter President, Christina Ethridge was awarded her PMN at Mid-Year in Washington, D.C. this past May.

Our chapter received this gold award for 2008 and our state received State Chapter of the Year for the third year in a row with all 5 local Idaho chapters receiving gold awards.

The initials stand for Performance, Management, Networking.

Networking with other WCR members means referrals!  So you know that I’m on board.  How about you?

If you are thinking “but I only see other members of my association at the monthly meetings so how is that networking?

Well there is a whole world out there of WCR members from Maine to California.

We all have the opportunity to meet these other Council members by attending events like Mid-Year in May or National in November which are the NAR events WCR piggybacks.

But more than that there are networking summits where you can take classes for your PMN designation and create a referral network at the same time.

If you seve as President, VP of Membership, President Elect, Treasurer or Secretary it is our goal to pay for all or part of your travel to any and all of these events during your term.

So it is in all of our best interests to act as a team where all members contribute and all members take advantage of the opportunity to serve Women’s Council of Realtors and attend these dynamic programs.

Meet, learn, party and advance you career.

In 2007 as President Elect, I met a WCR member in D.C. who was from my home state of Connecticut.  When our youngest son Clint said he wanted to purchase a home earlier this year, I referred him to this gal and received a nice 30% referral fee.

In 2008 as President of our chapter I attended a networking summit in St. Charles, Missouri where I met a local chapter president from California.  Go figure she would have clients moving here this year!!!  Because of that connection I am currently working with our now mutual clients who are bonafide preapproved purchasers with their home under contract.  They are here working with me looking to purchase up to a half a million dollar home!  I will gladly pay a 30% referral fee to the WCR member who referred me.  By the way, we are looking for a 2800 square foot home or larger on at least an acre that offers tons of privacy south of Lancaster Road and north of Worley!

Just think about how my $126 per year investment in this organization will show me paychecks of over $10,000 in 2009 so far.

I try my best to help clients list their homes in other states with WCR members I have connected with in order to collect more referral fees.  At WCR we give and we receive happily!

As a WCR member if you haven’t already done so, please go to our National website: wcr.org, sign in, upload your profile, blog, e-mail and start networking today!  You’ll be glad you did.

Our elections are in October.  So please be sure to speak with someone on our board if you are interested in a position.
